Right now, seniors are sitting in nursing homes isolated and with no physical contact. Because of their age or long-term health problems elders, have a higher risk of getting sick from the coronavirus. This means they have to stay away from everyone, even their family and friends. During this critical time in our history, we must all come together to help those in most need. If you are home with children, why not brighten up a senior’s day with homemade letters. Seniors love to receive notes, especially when made with love by cute kids. Parents can even use that time to teach their children a few lessons on empathy. The more colors and drawings used to decorate the letter, the better! Once you and the kids are finished with your project, mail them to your local nursing homes. I am sure the senior who receives a letter will be so grateful. Having a good social life leads to healthy aging and higher cognitive health, so spread the gift of life and compassion by sending a letter to isolated seniors living in nursing homes.
OurSeniors.org is on a mission to reach out to isolated seniors in the local community. Help bring joy to their lives by donating or volunteering to visit a facility. A little mindfulness can go a long way. We hope you enjoy this winter season from our team at OurSeniors.org.
