Honor your Favorite Senior, with Heartfelt Love notes

Have you been staying in contact with your loved ones? Though this crisis doesn’t seem to be ending, we cannot give up on our seniors. Send some love to your favorite long-term care facility resident through a note. Notes are powerful tools that connect and help us share our stories with people who need it most. Even though you can’t visit your loved one in person, you can still mail or drop-off a message. These impromptu messages can brighten and change a senior’s outlook during this pandemic. You never know how a word might affect an older adult and help them stay connected to the outside world. Do your best to be as informative and creative as you can. You can include photos, stories, and even the surprise of a new addition to the family! Show some effort. The opportunity to share new stories and experiences with a senior is a blessing that many wish they still had. Honor and do not forget the older adults in your family during their time of need. Now more than ever, seniors need reassurance and protection. It is your responsibility like it was theirs to nurture, protect, and love them. Write them a note or create a virtual one! Every time you are passionately involved in a seniors’ life, you teach your children the importance of honoring your elders and continuing the chain.

If you have an underlying condition like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or respiratory conditions, shelter in place and stay away from others or busy areas. For the most up-to-date information about the Coronavirus, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

OurSeniors.org is on a mission to reach out to isolated seniors in the local community. Help bring joy to their lives by donating or volunteering to visit a facility. A little mindfulness can go a long way. We hope you enjoy this winter season from our team at OurSeniors.org.
