Make Your Mark!
Seniors raise those party hats in the air! It is Older Americans Month! This month is a time to honor the contributions of older persons to our country. Thanks to the efforts and sacrifices of past and current seniors, our country is one of the most influential nations today. Thank you for raising and continuing to build the next generation. Without your efforts, our society would not be where we are today. We are grateful and honored for everything you have all done and continue to do. Thank you. The theme of this year’s Older American Month is “Make Your Mark!” The idea was selected to inspire and celebrate all the beautiful contributions that seniors have made to our communities. “Make Your Mark!” also spotlights the difference everyone can make in the lives of seniors. By supporting caregivers and honoring older adults, we strengthen our communities. Our team would like to invite you to make a mark this May in the life of an older adult. Send them a care package, flowers or write them a letter. A little thought goes a long way.
Readers, if you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, call your nearest medical facility and seek care right away. If you have an underlying condition like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or respiratory conditions, shelter in place and stay away from others or busy areas, for the most up-to-date information about the Coronavirus, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
OurSeniors.org is on a mission to reach out to isolated seniors in the local community. Help bring joy to their lives by donating or volunteering to visit a facility. A little mindfulness can go a long way. We hope you enjoy this winter season from our team at OurSeniors.org.
